This photo has very little to do with tennis, other than I stopped to take this as I was driving home from shooting a tennis tournament. It had been my first time shooting tennis, a sport I do not follow closely, and I was feeling very frustrated as I found it quite challenging. I felt like I came away with very little ‘usable’ photos and that was disappointing.
As I climbed up the highway in my car I noticed that I was climbing out of this thick fog and thought the view up top would likely be spectacular. After a long day of driving, shooting and celebrating the Chinese New Year I nearly bailed on the extra 15 minute jaunt up the mountain, but in the end decided I should strike while the iron is hot and head on up.
I came away with this shot. There were plenty of photographers there with their tripods who likely got an identical image, but I was particularly happy with my results in the end and am so glad I journeyed up the hill.
